Bio-Identical Hormones
The symptoms of hormonal shifts occuring in our bodies can be very strong and even make you feel out of control at times.
If you have tried to figure out what is happening or perhaps treated your symptoms in ways that don’t seem to work, testing your hormones may be the first step to feeling better.
Bio-identical hormones can offer much of the relief of traditional HRT therapies without causing any of these side effects. Bio-identical hormones are derived from natural plant compounds (soy and yams) and are synthesized to duplicate the exact structure and function of hormones produced naturally within the body.
To design an effective treatment plan to get your hormones back in balance, Dr. Cova will perform a hormone test. This will determine your current hormone levels and deficiencies. It also will identify what types of bio-identicals will work best alleviate your symptoms.
Saliva and/or blood testing is used to identify specific imbalances of one or more hormones and can also test for adrenal fatigue. This eliminates guesswork when prescribing. Dr. Cova recommends follow-up testing and regular monitoring. This allows her to adjust your dose as needed.
If you are experiencing symptoms of hormonal imbalance, be sure to discuss your options with Dr. Cova to see what might work best for you.

In most cases, simple lifestyle changes or medical treatments can ease your discomfort. Some of your options include pelvic floor therapy, Urethral slings, and biofeedback.
